Comments: Appearing in nine issues of the Delineator Magazine, these nine tales are unique in L. Frank Baum's story writing. These tales similar in nature to Rudyard Kipling and Aesop teach a lesson, but with a Baumian twist, showing the nature of animals. We find fairy animals like the fairies that visit humans, and the cruelty of nature. A tenth tale, "The Tiger's Eye" never made it into print until 1962 and is not included here. |
