Comments: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was written in 1900 and 100+ years later it is amazing to see that many of the story elements which were fantasy when Braum wrote them are reality today. The Tin Woodman could have a heart transplant; the Scarecrow would realize that what he was wishing for was only one quarter of a brain and flying through space to strange lands is very much part of modern space travel "Predicting the Future with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz looks at the changes that have occurred in the past hundred years It also attempts to take a peek into the future to see what lies ahead in many fields of human endeavor including transportation, communication, medical science and, most important of all, human relations. |
