Comments: Watson has written the text and Chapman has provided hundreds of photos for this biography of Judy Garland. Because the book is relatively short, it of course does not approach the detailed examination of Garland found in Gerold Frank's Judy (1975) or Anne Edwards's Judy Garland (1975). Nevertheless, Watson manages to cover most of the high and low points in Garland's life. Many of the photographs from Chapman's collection are rare, but their content is pretty standard. The book is unexceptional and unobjectionable; primarily for Garland fans. |
