Comments: When the sea-fairy Alba discovers the pirate ship Crescent Moon adrift in the far northern ocean, she rushes to the court of the Royal Palace in the Emerald City to inform Ozma, the Queen of the Emerald City, and the Wizard of Oz, that something is amiss. The Wicked Witch Mombi, and Grewl, the former King of Jinxland, are planning to conquer Aquareine, the beautiful underwater home of the sea-fairies located in the far northern ocean, and steal their sea-magic to use for their own evil ends. Under the direction of Ozma, the Wizard, and Glinda the Good Witch, a group of some of Oz’s most famous and beloved characters – Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, Jack Pumpkinhead, the Hungry Tiger, Trot, Cap’n Bill, Tik-Tok, Polychrome the Rainbow’s Daughter, Scraps the Patchwork Girl, and Pon, the King of Jinxland – travels to the ship, where adventures in the air, below the sea, and on the great ice sheets of the far northern ocean await them as they fight against time and many powerful enemies to stop Mombi’s vile scheme. The Crescent Moon of Oz is a novel lovingly told in the American fairy-tale tradition of the creator of Oz, L. Frank Baum. |
