Comments: These delightful six stories were individual books (Bandit Jim Crow; Mr. Woodchuck; Prairie-Dog Town; Prince Mud-Turtle; Sugar-Loaf Mountain; Twinkle's Enchantment) sold over a four year period. In 1911 they were published as a single volume, Twinkle and Chubbins. L. Frank Baum did not want to compete with himself and by basing these tales towards a younger audience made these an enduring series of wonderful tales. Six short stories about a little girl nicknamed Twinkle, her chum Chubbins, and the adventures they have with the animals of the North Dakota prairie. |
