Comments: A reissue of "Policeman Bluejay". A sequel to Twinkle and Chubbins, this full length book expands upon the popularity of the tale Bandit Jim Crow. In this story Twinkle and Chubbins become lost in the forest and are transformed by a cruel tuxix into birds, though they retain their own heads reduced in size. They live in the forest as birds and have many adventures with the forest creatures while searching for the means to break their enchantments. One piece of trivia, the illustrator is the baby sister of Frank Lloyd Wright! This delightful story ended Baum's nature fairy stories and is amongst his finest. |
