The Wiz of Iz is powerful parable about four intrepid souls: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was a very important job to be done and because this job was so important, Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. So Nobody, did it. Somebody got mad about that, because it was Everybody’s job. In the end, Everybody blamed Somebody, when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. In this story, Nobody is the hero, because Nobody does Everybody’s job: the job of creating the change we need. This change isn’t found listening to the experts. Instead it’s found by listening to our inner voice. We’re all experts on what it’s like is to live in fear of the future on a planet in peril. Change isn’t found in the passivity. It’s found through active engagement by people who feel powerless . The Wiz of Iz starts out following the plot of The Wizard of Oz, but takes a few twists. The intrepid souls from The Land of Iz, find themselves lost in a land of negativity called The Land of Izn’t, controlled by the Demon of Darkness. They want to return home, but first must find the Twelve Traces of Truth on the Tablet of Truth. They follow the Rainbow Road meeting elders, experts and eccentrics, who each share insights. All are seeking the empowerment they need to cope with crises. They all hope that the Wiz of Iz can help them create “the change they need.” They eventually piece together the fragments of insight into one profound truth that pulls the “Curtain of Charade” revealing the mystery behind the MEANING OF MONEY, the SOUL OF SUSTAINABILITY and the CATALYST OF CHANGE.
