Comments: A maker of cutesy colorful jewelry, Tarina was invited by Warner Brothers to create a collection to celebrate the 70 years of that perennial movie classic, “The Wizard of Oz”. The resulting line, along with the rest of her collection was featured in a lookbook entitled “My Pretty”. Shot by Albert Sanchez, it features Kelly Osbourne as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Debi Mazar as The Wicked Witch of The West, Holly Owens as Dorothy and Larva X as a bevy of other characters. Tarina herself is featured as the Wizard DJ and I found it amusing that the lookbook also provides the wizard’s playlist, particularly because in this case the wizard seems to have great taste: Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode, Bat for Lashes, Portishead, Blonde Redhead are all featured along with other cool names. Even if her bright and shiny jewelry isn’t your cup of tea, the whimsy in this lookbook is unavoidable and cheerful. |
