Comments: L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" for many, is just a good bedtime story, an enchanting fairytale, or a delightful movie starring Judy Garland. For those who understand the symbolism, however, it is perhaps the greatest miracle of the modern age: It's the Book of Revelation put into a modern context. The woman, the dragon, the beast and antichrist are all symbolically represented in this fairytale. But this allegory isn't about Nero and the Roman Empire; this allegory is about a new beast, a new antichrist, and a different kind of war being waged against the people of God. |
